Tell me again why my crappy Dish Network (among others) refuses to carry Al Jazeera?

One of the bigger problems stemming from the practice of diplomatic immunity is parking violations. Drivers of cars with diplomatic plates are not at all obliged to pay for any parking citations that are issued, whether that be for speeding or illegal parking. Yet, even within that, some countries still stand out:
A 2006 study by two economists found that there was a significant correlation between home-country corruption (as measured by Transparency International) and unpaid parking fines; nonetheless, approximately 30 countries (or 20%) had fewer than one unpaid fine per diplomat over a five-year period, and 20 had none at all. Six countries had in excess of 100 violations per diplomat: Kuwait, Egypt, Chad, Sudan, Bulgaria and Mozambique.
From Wikipedia:
Aladdin Elaasar, an Egyptian biographer and an American professor, estimates that the Mubarak family is worth from $50 to $70 billion [in dollars].
The wealth of Ahmed Ezz, the former NDP Organisation Secretary, is estimated to be 18 billion Egyptian pounds; The wealth of former Housing Minister Ahmed al-Maghraby is estimated to be more than 11 billion Egyptian pounds; The wealth of former Minister of Tourism Zuhair Garrana is estimated to be 13 billion Egyptian pounds; The wealth of former Minister of Trade and Industry, Rashid Mohamed Rashid, is estimated to be 12 billion Egyptian pounds; and the wealth of former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly is estimated to be 8 billion Egyptian pounds.
Six Egyptian Pounds = 1 US Dollar.
“The struggle for justice should never be abandoned because of the apparent overwhelming power of those who seem invincible in their determination to hold on to it. That apparent power has, again and again, proved vulnerable to human qualities less measurable than bombs and dollars: moral fervor, determination, unity, organization, sacrifice, wit, ingenuity, courage, patience.”

Hot on the heels of the Touchpad, meet the Veer:
It’s about the size of a credit card, but has all the functionality of a full webOS device built into that 2.6-inch, 320×400 screen. It’s got HSPA+, 8GB of storage inside, and a Snapdragon 7230 CPU running at 800MHz.
Palm, in my very humble opinion, is the only notable company other than Apple that is innovating with mobile right now. (Microsoft is on that track too.)
I was afraid regarding that innovation and what would happen to it after the acquisition. Significantly less worried now. The next few months will be very interesting, it seems.
The owners, who make their living off of tourism, have no money to feed their horses. Tell me this isn’t heart-breaking.
Seems like a horrible interview. The Winklevi just get a sounding board where they re-assert all their beliefs and feelings towards Zuckerburg.
